12 MILE CAY

aA and affiliate planningAlliance are currently developing a Master Plan, detailed community plan, and architectural designs for a sustainable new residential and resort community on Long Island, the Bahamas.

The 12 Mile Cay project will rehabilitate over 4,000 hectares of salt-making lagoons to their original natural state, and will develop a series of residential enclaves that reinforce local communities and traditional economies. The program includes a 200-cabana hotel development, 350 beach houses and 150 homes, serviced by a new airstrip and 190-berth harbour. In addition to the requisite sports and recreation facilities, aA is proposing an innovative artist-in-residence program, supported by studios, performance venues and other amenities.
