The Niagara Health and Biosciences Research Complex [NHBRC] is a highly innovative project that will support Brock University’s mandate as an international centre of academic excellence and cutting-edge research, and will serve as the fulcrum of a new innovation triangle in the Niagara Region.
The NBHRC will bring together leading Brock researchers to advance human health, biosciences and biotechnology, drug development and synthesis and to develop value-added products from agricultural and horticultural crops. The Centre will also: assist in the development of new technologies for transfer to Niagara Region knowledge industries; provide an incubator / accelerator to attract bioscience and health start-up enterprises to the Region; and assist Brock faculty and students in monetizing the results of their research.
The innovative program for the NBHRC brings together research and industry, and supports programs in synthetic chemistry, biomedical research, biocontainment, molecular biology, medical education, and child and youth studies. The business incubator program will foster collaboration between researchers and entrepreneurs to transfer knowledge and innovations to the marketplace.
